PARLIAMENT The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) found no evidence that sex was involved in dealings with the Selangor government, said Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Razali Ibrahim.

"There were claims, not by the government but by that side (the opposition), about sex services and the Selangor government.

"When we (the MACC) investigated, we found the evidence did not exist," Razali said while wrapping up his part of the Budget 2017 debate speech, focusing on the MACC and Felda.

This is in reference to a MACC complaint lodged by Rafizi Ramli (PKR-Pandan) on allegations that there were requests for women and money from certain parties in deals involving the Selangor government.

Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali had said the accusations were part of a smear campaign against his government.

Razali brought up the Selangor sex claims while answering queries from lawmakers on MACC’s investigation into 1MDB in Parliament last night.

No politicians probed in 'Watergate'

Earlier in his speech, the Muar MP also spoke about the Sabah Water Department corruption scandal.

"For now, the probe only focuses on the involvement of government officers who took bribes or abused powers.

"It doesn't involve any politician, either from Sabah or at the federal level," Razali said.

Two Sabah Water Department officers were arrested in October over suspicion of corruption in granting government projects worth RM3.3 billion.

More than RM100 million was seized from their homes and bank accounts, along with jewellery worth RM3.64 million, 94 designer handbags worth half a million ringgit, nine luxury cars worth RM2.74 million and 127 land titles.

There are allegations that the projects were approved when former Umno vice-president Shafie Apdal was rural and regional development minister.

However, Shafie has denied any involvement in the scandal.
