Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) said the party does not want those who are believed to have attacked one of its parliamentarians to be detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012.
"On behalf of Amanah, I do not agree and strongly protest if the government wants to use Sosma against the rioters.
"Amanah is consistently against Sosma's use against anyone, even our political enemies," said the party's legal bureau chief Hanipa Maidin in a statement today.
