After receiving support from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and various other leaders, the Rohingya people now have another 'prominent' Malaysian coming to their defence.

Claiming to have slapped a tiger in the past, he cautioned Myanmar State Councilor Aung San Suu Kyi against incurring his wrath.

Known for his striking uniform, dark glasses, walking stick, but most of all, his fondness for logding police reports, Abdul Rani Kulup issued the warning to the Nobel Peace Prize winner after leading a protest in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.

"Don't let me fly over there (Myanmar)...

“Don't kid around, I've even slapped a tiger, what more Suu Kyi?" said the Martabat Jalinan Muhibbah Malaysia (MJMM) president.

Earlier, Abdul Rani led a group of some 70 protestors after Friday prayers at Masjid India to express anger over the massare of Rohingya people.

He also warned the local Myanmar community not to cause trouble.

"I'm issuing a stern warning to the local Myanmar community in Malaysia... Don't be insolent to Malaysians here," he said.

The Myanmar government has faced mounting condemnation following the reported increase of violence against the Rohingya community in Rakhine state.

This was after an attack on a Myanmar military outpost which the government blamed on the Rohingya community.

Suu Kyi has also faced criticism for not doing enough to stop the violence, but has since blamed the foreign media for reporting false news on the conflict.

Over the weekend, Najib and Hadi held a solidarity rally at the Stadium Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur, which attracted more than 10,000 people.

The prime minister has been criticised by Myanmar leaders and media over this.
