Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu believes the prime minister's wish to call for general election soon may become an empty statement.

"If the prediction of bad economy becomes reality early next year, then Najib Abdul Razak will cancel his ambition in silently attacking the opposition.

"Thus, his dream to dissolve Parliament in the first quarter of 2017, ie before May 2017, will only become an empty statement," he said at the party convention held in Shah Alam today.
