Shahrir dismisses Rafizi's warning of RM7.8b loss if FGV delisted
Felda chairperson Shahrir Samad has dismissed Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli's warning that delisting Felda Global Ventures will result in a loss of RM7.8 billion.
"This is just speculative, his mathematics is not proper math," Shahrir told a press conference in the BN Backbenchers Council's office in the Parliament complex today.

Last week Rafizi had claimed that there would be major losses if FGV is taken off Bursa Malaysia.
He had said the potential losses stem from RM2.9.billion FGV would have to pay out in order to buy back stocks from shareholders; RM2 billion that public funds had lost from the fall in FGV stock prices; and RM2.9 billion FGV has spent for payoffs, loan repayments and other expenses.
Shahrir said no decision has yet to be made on whether to take FGV off the stock market.
"We are looking at all options.
"As a major shareholder, we want to see FGV perform, that's the first priority," Shahrir said.
Meanwhile, in a Bursa filing, FGV's board of directors said there has been no discussion about turning the company private.
"FGV was informed that there has been no discussion on this matter at the board level.
"FGV has also not received any proposal from the other shareholders on the same matter," the board was quoted as saying by Bernama.
FGV was put on the stock market in 2012 with an initial public offering (IPO) of RM4.55, widely touted at the time as the second biggest in the world.
Among the major share buyers, besides Felda, were public funds Tabung Haji and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
However, FGV share prices tanked over the next several years, and at today's lunch break, FGV shares ended flat at RM1.76.
Shahrir was speaking to reporters after the BBC handed over RM24,000 to the Tabung Pahlawan (Heroes Fund) for Armed Forces veterans.
Shahrir said the sum was contributed by BNBBC members, who made personal donations.
He said the council would be organising fundraisers for the Tabung Pahlawan yearly from now on.
