PAS has proposed that its splinter party, Amanah, merge with DAP in order to solve the opposition conundrum over seat allocations in the next general election.

PAS vice-president Iskandar Samad said this is because Amanah's presence has disrupted the national political scene, and as such, past proposals for it to merge with another party are spot on.

"But it shouldn't merge with PKR as suggested. I propose that Amanah merge with DAP, as it is seen to be closer to DAP.

"If this happens, Amanah leaders can be allocated DAP's safe seats and this can solve many problems," Iskandar said in a statement today.
