Johor police have released a man arrested for a allegedly anti-royal remarks, after Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Ibrahim decreed that the case be dropped.

"We released him in Johor Bahru. It is up to him where he wants to go now," Johor police chief Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said when contacted.

He also said that Tunku Ismail does not want the matter pursued.
