Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad defended his decision to work with the opposition, stating that only a stupid driver will drive on instead of making a U-turn when the road ahead has been blown up.

The Kelantan government is mulling demonstrations of public caning to dispel negative perception towards the punishment under syariah law.

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced that Malaysia will cancel its visa-free travel policy for North Korea effective Monday.

A North Korea delegation sent to Malaysia reiterated scepticism that Kim Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was killed using chemical weapon VX nerve agent.

Attorney-general Apandi said the North Korean chemist detained in relation to the assassination would be deported.

China urged calm amid calls for North Korea to be suspended from the United Nations for purportedly using a chemical weapon in Jong-nam’s murder.
