Opposition ready for female PM after GE14, says DAP MP

PARLIAMENT There is no need to wait until 2050 for a woman to be made prime minister as the opposition is ready to appoint one after the 14th general election, a DAP lawmaker said today.

"We (the opposition) are ready to support Permatang Pauh (PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) as the prime minister if we are given the mandate.

"There's no need to wait for 2050," Loke, the MP for Seremban from the DAP, said in the House today when debating on the royal address of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
