Terry Yee, who was filmed abusing a dog in Puchong, has lost a business deal due to his action.

After viewing the video of the incident, American adventure equipment firm Osprey Packs has decided to remove the businessman's firm Tearproof Sdn Bhd as a distributor.

"We were horrified and shaken by what we witnessed and many were overcome with emotion.

"All of us were outraged and shocked to confirm the perpetrator of the abuse captured was a distributor of ours.

"Therefore, we have served a letter of intention to terminate our business relationship with (Tearproof) effective upon notice," it said on its Facebook page, in reply to a user.

It added that Osprey opposes any inhumane treatment of animals and will not tolerate such "reprehensible" actions.

In the video clip, which went viral, the 30-year-old Singaporean had attacked the dog after it rushed at him while he was cycling and caused him to fall.

Apart from punching and kicking the dog, he had also repeatedly hit it with a helmet.

The police as well as the Department of Veterinary Services are investigating the matter.

Over the weekend, a group of people held a protest in Puchong, demanding that the authorities take action against Yee.

Yee has since apologised for his action.
