Delay in charging a Malacca Umno politician for corruption has raised suspicions over how he could have gone missing, despite an arrest warrant issued in his name, PKR's Bukit Katil MP Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin said today.

The politician, who is linked to Malacca Menteri Besar Idris Haron, was scheduled to be charged on Tuesday but did not show up in court, prompting an arrest warrant to be issued against him.

"How is it that he is still free despite the arrest warrant? Where is he and why have the authorities failed to apprehend him?" Shamsul Iskandar asked.
