Anwar questions reasoning behind PAS-PKR divorce

Jailed PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim has expressed doubt over the reasoning behind PAS' move to cut ties with his party.

Anwar said the reasoning that PKR had not supported PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's move to amend syariah penal laws, was "inaccurate".

"It's clear the PAS leadership did not properly read the statements by myself and the PKR president (Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) that respected Hadi's right (to push for the amendments) and proposed for it to be referred to a parliament select committee,"Anwar said in a statement today...
