The inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar has confirmed that a suspect was picked up in a northern state in relations to the abduction of Pastor Raymond Koh.

Khalid said the suspect had been arrested last week to facilitate investigations into Koh's abduction.

"Yes, we picked up a local and I would like to stress here that there is no truth to the claims that the case is not being investigated.

"Every angle of the case is being focused on," the inspector-general told reporters as reported in theSun today.

Khalid said Koh is being investigated for proselytising, as there had been reports lodged with the police on the matter.

“Since there are reports against him, the police have to be fair in investigating the alleged accusations,” Khalid said, adding that the authorities are also investigating whether there is a connection between the proselytisation claims and his abduction.

It was reported yesterday that 100 days had passed since the pastor was abducted in broad daylight. His family remains in the dark about the reasons behind his abduction and his current location.

Koh's wife Susanna Liew has not discounted the possibility that the state is linked to her husband's disappearance.

"I do not have evidence that absolutely proves this. I still do not know who abducted Raymond. But can I rule out the possibility that people in power are linked to this, or know more than they are admitting? No, I cannot rule that out," Liew told a press conference.
