DPM: Not just past PMs, admit Najib’s rule also ‘awesome’

Kingfisher: Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is perhaps not too well-informed about the present fiscal difficulties confronting his administration and the nation, for him to categorise our nation's present status as "awesome".

It seems a let-down in know-how, comprehensive understanding and acknowledgement from a politician who could possibly replace Prime Minister Najib Razak as the next PM.

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad's two decades at the helm fundamentally changed the development index of a young and free country in many constructive aspects.

Admittedly there were some serious flaws in Mahathir's leadership resulting unfortunately in the primacy of certain political parties, groups and even in the restraints to good democratic governance. The adverse consequences from such negative multiplier by-products are now obvious in the "present".

One wonders if both the "good" as well as the "bad" from the past administration were willingly bequeathed to Zahid's generation of leaders. However, one rationalises, things have turned ugly for ordinary people.

Boeyks: Zahid has gone from speaking of the former PM having Indian parentage to talking in riddles. Better stick to riddles, because nobody can understand it, including yourself.

By the way, the present is not just “hebat”, it's in a class of its own. Even the US Department of Justice (DOJ) admits their kleptocracy case involving Malaysia is a world record.

Ib: All I know is, every time we say we are from Malaysia, foreigners including taxi drivers and tour guides laugh at us and say, your prime minister is involved the world’s biggest financial scandal. This is not something that has happened with other prime ministers.

What has he delivered to the country? I cannot think of anything that is not going to be a burden to the people in the coming years.

BrightBart: I think Zahid used the wrong word - the right word to describe the current administration is actually “awful”.

It is patently awful to have a leader who is alleged to have stolen from the country to the tune of billions of ringgit. To call such a leader and what he has done “awesome” only serves to show how morally bankrupt Zahid himself is.

How else can we describe pulling off the alleged US$2 billion heist by tycoon Jho Low and Najib's stepson Riza Aziz - the largest heist in the world - with Umno's leadership pretending it did not happen? That's awesome.

Also, Umno ministers now are the biggest polishers of Najib's boots. Awesome. As for Zahid, a man with dubious connections, a man accused of being a liar, and a man with no respect for the courts, is also awesome. Wait till he is sidestepped by Umno VP Hishammuddin Hussein, then it will also be awesome.

Zahid, you are supposed to be a deeply religious guy, but this is not reflected in your recent actions and utterances. Has your moral compass been compromised somewhat?

Drngsc: Oh yes, the present government, in particular Malaysian Official 1 (MO1), is awesome. He is awesome and world famous for all the wrong reasons. He buys submarines that allegedly cannot dive, gets RM 2.6 billion 'donations' into his personal account.

Meanwhile, the debt owed by Malaysia will fall on our children and our children's children to pay. Needless to say, with a kleptomaniac as the head, the country is going into failed nation status soon. That is, unless we can throw out MO1 and save Malaysia.

Yes, MO1 is awesome, no doubt about that. But not for anything good. but for everything bad.

When one think of Najib, what comes to mind is Leonardo DiCaprio, Paris Hilton, Jamie Foxx, wild parties, pink diamonds, Van Gogh paintings, super yachts, Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu, the missing plane MH370 and so on. Extremely awesome.

Oxymoronictendencies: "Awesome" might be the wrong word. Perhaps “stunning”, “outrageous”, “mind blowing”? All these words spring to mind when talking about Najib's achievements.

We have been accused of the theft of billions from 1MDB, and Zahid is proud of it. Well, that says all that needs to be said about Zahid. I guess it's his turn for the clown suit this week.

Anonymous #37634848: Mahathir championed the Malay cause all his life, and even former premier Abdul Razak Hussein recognised this and paved way for Mahathir to become the subsequent PM. Zahid was apple-polishing him and Anwar then.

Now he is apple-polishing Najib. He fears that he is going to be eliminated from his DPM position soon, and so is trying to score points with his boss.

Only the other night, he officiated a 'Gabongan Malabari' function in Kuala Lumpur and promised the Indians the moon and stars if BN wins the elections. But remember the promises to Hindraf?

Justice: Even if Mahathir is an Indian, Chinese, Iban or Kadazan, so what? Zahid, which law in Malaysia prohibits non-Malays from being prime minister of Malaysia?

Responsible Malaysian: Another problem arises for Umno - now they will be busy investigating all members to ensure that those who aren't 100 percent pure Malay are to be rid of.

But how to define Malay?

Liew Lean Kut: You can hear and feel their desperation. It shows the quality of the person who made the statement, and a deputy prime minister at that.
