Malacca wants bumi youth scheme participants registered with CCM

Malacca is in the midst of discussions to make it compulsory for Bumiputera Youth Entrepreneurship Programme (Tube) participants to register with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) so that their progress can be monitored in collaboration with SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp).

State agriculture and entrepreneurial development committee chairman Hasan Abdul Rahman said the initiative was aimed at ensuring that the participants would fully utilisethe financial assistance received to grow their business, thus contributing to Malacca and the country’s economy.

“We are collecting information from all strategic agencies, including SME Corp in order to seek CCM’s assistance in creating a Tube network to facilitate the monitoring process," he told reporters after officiating the Tube Mega 2017 in Ayer Keroh, today.

Present was SME Corp Malaysia board member Agil Faisal Ahmad Fadzil.

Hasan said the agencies involved needed to implement various strategic initiatives and innovative approaches so that the entrepreneurs could strengthen and expand their business.

These young entrepreneurs should to be given enough exposure to prepare them for the challenges ahead, he said, adding that, “If their business were not very successful, we do not want them to become despondent, misuse the financial assistance and resort to untoward behaviour.

Hasan said entrepreneurs should take initiatives and intensify their efforts in order to enhance their skills and performance in their stride to become competitive and penetrate the global market.

"We have produced 35 entrepreneurs and generated RM563,127 sales through Tube since it was introduced in 2014. We have also created 75 jobs for locals from businesses run by former Tube participants,” he said.
