PAS has once again insisted that Amanah is not its match in the country's political scene.
PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad said Amanah's existence "does not mean a thing to PAS".
"Amanah is not our match, it would be embarrassing for us to go against them," he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian at a ceramah in Baling, Kedah last night.
PAS, he said, should not humour Amanah as it would only make the latter think that it is great.
"They would think they are great if we go against them," he added.
Amanah was formed by mostly former PAS members who had quit the Islamist party after its muktamar in 2015, which saw the "progressive" faction completely wiped out.
Amanah subsequently joined former Pakatan Rakyat members PKR and DAP to form the present Pakatan Harapan coalition.
This followed the break up of Pakatan Rakyat earlier that year, after a falling out between DAP and PAS over the latter's insistence on passing hudud law.
