The Dutch Embassy in Malaysia has asked Interpol to investigate the death of Dutch model Ivana Esther Robert Smit, who fell to her death at a condominium in Dang Wangi, Kuala Lumpur, last Thursday.

The embassy's request comes following a request by the model's family, who suspect foul play behind the 19-year-old's death.

Dutch news outlets reported Ivana's father Marcel Smit as saying that the family believes his daughter was pushed and claimed there were bruise marks on her neck that shows someone had grabbed her there.

"The (Malaysian) police are doing nothing with this information and only want to close the case quickly.

"We want justice," Smit was quoted as saying.

Ivana was found naked on the balcony of a sixth-floor unit of the condominium, having fallen from the 20th floor, at about 3pm last Thursday. 

She had earlier gone out drinking with an American man and his Kazakh wife, who owned the unit on the 20th floor, but Malaysian police have ruled out foul play, classifying the case as sudden death. 

The police have also reportedly told Ivana's family that they found traces of alcohol, ecstasy, and amphetamines in her system during post-mortem. 

Ivana's last known communication was a selfie she had sent to her boyfriend about 7.25am last Thursday, saying she had gone home with the couple after a night out. 

Marcel also claims that neighbours had heard shouting and argument from the couple's condo unit on the morning of the incident and that the couple did not contact police until 3pm, some five hours after Ivana is believed to have fallen to her death. 

The couple reportedly told the police that the husband had slept throughout the episode and that his wife had gone to send their four-year-old son to school. 

Ivana was the second runner-up in the Malaysia Supermodel Search 2014, when she was only 15.
