Yoursay: Is Ku Nan game enough to debate ‘old man’ Dr M?

YOURSAY | Do you have the gut and fitness to have a face-to-face debate with the doc?

Pity for 'old' Dr M, wife over pasar malam visit, says Ku Nan

David Dass: Siti Hasmah Ali is probably the most respected and admired wife of a politician in this country. She is not an object of pity but someone whose example is to be followed.

In this country, we are taught to respect our elders. I find this especially true for me now. Everywhere I go, the young of all races treat me with so much kindness and respect.

I have seen the excitement that former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife generate wherever they are. It is remarkable considering how much he is criticised for the present state of our democracy.

It is clear, notwithstanding his excesses, that there is much about him that people admire.

Vijay47: I will go along with you a bit, Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor,

Mahathir is indeed an old man, more than 90 years of age. But like that famous tagline - Born 1920, Still Going Strong - Mahathir is hale and spritely, as sharp a cookie as ever.

I will not reprimand you for the callousness you display, I could do that only if better were expected of you, not when you are you or DPM Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, where crudeness flows in your veins more thickly than red corpuscles.

Mahathir's walkabout in your backyard must have rung all kinds of alarm bells in you, especially when he and his wife were given such a warm welcome by the others at the pasar malam, some even distancing themselves from your party comrade, Jamal Md Yunos.

What panic you must now be suffering, Tengku Adnan, not to mention the daily nightmares you would be riddled with. If the “old man”, or even his “old pitiful wife”, does decide to stand in Putrajaya, you would have to be referred to as "Najib's former sidekick".

Hang Jebat: Tengku Adnan, you may be younger but Dr M is much healthier than you physically and mentally. As far as morality is concern, you are certainly no match. As for character wise, your score is 0.

Do you have the gut and fitness to have a face-to-face debate with the doc?

Cogito Ergo Sum: Ku Nan, you have attacked the church and now a respectable elderly couple. You are the one who should be pitied.

You and your fellow clowns in the self-serving cabinet will soon be walking the streets, selling your wares. I don’t think anyone will pity you and your lot.

Versey: Tengku Adnan’s comments about the elderly couple and the people going to pasar malam shows that he’s just “kurang ajar” and his mentality is so low and offensive to the ordinary folks who form the majority of the common people in Malaysia.

I just can’t understand how on earth the country allows such character to be a public servant and more so if the electorate don’t let him lose his deposit if he were to stand for the next election.

Anonymous_7b825f63: To many of us, pasar malam is the only high point of the week. Not all of us can afford to go shopping in London or Paris like our BN politicians.

To them, going to the pasar malam is a very unfortunate thing. These politicians are so rich with ill-gotten wealth that they have totally lost touch with us, the poor rakyat.

Worried Sick: I cannot understand Ku Nan. Compared with Mahathir, he stands nowhere in looks, dignity or intellect.

Ku Nan must be running scared looking at so many of the ordinary folks wanting to be seen with Mahathir and happily taking selfies, et al.

I really hope that the right-thinking civil servants in Putrajaya will wake up and help the country regain its stature internationally.

Please kick out those who are destroying our country, not only for your own sake but for the sake of your children's future. Do not for the sake of one man destroy this beautiful country we hold for our children. Kick out Ku Nan when you go to vote.

Clever Voter: Mahathir has been and seen the inside of Putrajaya. There is so much at stake for Tengku Adnan, and so much to lose despite Umno’s electoral advantages and deep resources.

Tengku Adnan needs to be reminded that it's because of his government’s mischief that Mahathir is being deprived of his well-deserved retirement. There is no shame in what he said and thought, perhaps Tengku Adnan should be the one to retire.

Mahathir pokes fun at Ku Nan on contesting in Putrajaya

Negarawan: "I pity him when he visited the pasar malam, he's an old man. We saw (that) especially Siti Hasmah who can't even walk, she needs people to hold her," said Ku Nan.

Ku Nan seems to be quite arrogant, which is typical of Umno. Does Ku Nan think that his state of health is better than that of Mahathir?

Although Mahathir might be in his 90s, he could outlive Ku Nan. In terms of mental sharpness, Mahathir beats Ku Nan hands down.

For Ku Nan to belittle Siti Hasmah in this manner clearly shows that he is not a gentleman and is a low-class politician.

Cogito Ergo Sum: Even if he is on a wheelchair, Dr M will beat you hands down in a fair election.

Leave Siti Hasmah out of your low-class crowd. You have blamed all and sundry, including churches, Christians, the Chinese and the West, for you own self-inflicted woes.

The people are just tired of the hardship made worse by stupid explanations and excuses.

Anonymous_40f4: Adnan should travel to the suburban areas of Kuala Lumpur and see the horrible and shameful conditions of the roads, especially in the industrial areas of Kepong.

The factories pay taxes and assessment to the federal government and the City Hall (DBKL) is legally responsible for the resurfacing the roads.

Take a look at Jalan Segambut. DBKL has approved thousands of luxury condos along this road without widening or upgrading this narrow single-lane road.
