Four participants of the Run Out Pahang 2018 programme were injured yesterday after being hit by its secretariat vehicle which was monitoring the race participants.
Kuantan District Police chief ACP Mohamad Noor Yusof Ali said the incident occurred at 8.25am near the Al-Imam Ash-Shafie mosque, Kota SAS in Kuantan.
The injured participants were Ahmad Fakhri Sulaiman, 31, Chua Yennie, 21, Haslinda Othman, 41, and Nurul Huda Ahmad Razali, 33.

“The accident was believed to have occurred after the driver who was monitoring the participants from Bukit Istana to Kota SAS tried to slow down the vehicle to give direction to the participants exiting from a route to re-enter the designated route.
"However the 28-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to enter the race route and hit the participants who were heading to the finishing location about 250 metres away,” he told a media conference today.
