Envoy livid over The Economist

Malaysian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Ahmad Rasidi Hazizi write to The Economist's editor, accusing the British weekly magazine of publishing "falsehoods" spread by the Malaysian opposition about Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Najib has no plans to sue foreign news organisations which had recently published or aired unflattering news that linked him to the 1MDB scandal.

A new motion will be tabled in the Swiss Parliament seeking the restitution of funds that have been linked to 1MDB after the original motion was defeated on Thursday for being "too broad".

Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad advised Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to shun Najib at the Asean-Australia Special Summit in Sydney this weekend.

A tale of two rallies

They had the best of times, they had the worst of times. Now Selangor Harapan and PAS will look back at their decade in government - in the same city but at two different rallies.

For now, Selangor Harapan seat negotiations indicate that PKR will be given the role to field candidates for the bulk of the 56 state seats.

Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin will not confirm if he will be defending his seat in Pagoh, which he has held for five terms.

PM's aide Rizal Mansor said Muhyiddin was a "forked-tongue hypocrite" for seeking the abolishment of GST now, despite having once supported it publicly.

Other KiniBites

A major seat reshuffle is on the cards in Penang, with big names from both BN and Harapan either being "promoted" or ordered to take up more difficult challenges.

Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim is still the president of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), clarified secretary-general Hamidin Mohd Amin.

Looking ahead

Deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will be touring Penang.

Mahathir will speak at a dialogue with disabled groups in Subang Jaya.
