Kayveas quits MyPPP

M Kayveas said he resigned from his post as president of MyPPP, though his party insists that he was sacked.

The veteran politician said that he will only address allegations about his sacking after the 14th general election.

It was revealed that BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Adnan had instructed MyPPP to discipline Kayveas over his stance on the tussle with MIC for the Cameron Highlands parliamentary seat.

Tengku Adnan later said that there are others " more qualified" to lead MyPPP, following Kayveas' exit.

MIC president Dr S Subramaniam said that BN would not be affected by Kayveas’ absence.

Arul Kanda extols 1MDB roadshow

1MDB’s nationwide engagements with the people have received positive responses, claimed CEO Arul Kanda Kandasamy.

He also told Malaysiakini in an interview that the police are now allowing the firm's auditors to have a look at its annual reports for the last three years.

Arul Kanda denied that 1MDB is "panicking" over the US$3.5 billion the firm claimed to have paid to a subsidiary of International Petroleum Investment Company (Ipic), which is now in limbo.

Incumbent Amanah Sepang MP Hanipa Maidin said that the more Arul Kanda tries to explain away the 1MDB, the more fed up the people become with figures linked to the scandal.

A certified translation of a Jakarta court's decision on the Equanimity showed that neither issues of the superyacht’s ownership nor its alleged links to 1MDB were raised in court, unlike what was reported in certain media outlets.
