GE14 | Deceased former Singaporean prime minister Lee Kuan Yew is short of a hand for a game of mahjong in the afterlife, according to Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming.

In a video clip circulating on social media, the candidate for the Teluk Intan parliament seat and Aulong state seat joked that Lee, who died on March 2015, has been waiting for Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“Lee has been waiting for a long time, Lee called him (Mahathir) to ask 'When will you come up?'” he added, much to the amusement of his audience.

Describing the 93-year-old Mahathir as a “youngster”, Nga said: “The youngster replied to Lee...'Cannot, I still have one unfinished business'.”

“What is the unfinished business? To finish off BN,” added the DAP leader to a rousing applause.

Nga, who is aiming to unseat Teluk Intan incumbent and Gerakan president Mah Siew Keong, said that under Mahathir, BN won the general election five times with a two-thirds majority.

“Last time 'Lou Ma' (Mahathir) used to be BN's 'dai lou' (big brother).

“Now, he has come over here to be together with (DAP veteran) Lim Kit Siang...Two dragons went out to sea to end BN,” he added.

Describing the 14th general election as Mahathir's “farewell concert”, Nga urged the voters to help Mahathir achieve victory in the polls.

“After he finishes this business, he may be... (Nga breaks out into a song) 'Goodbye my love, farewell my lover',” he added.

When the audience reacted with laughter, he quipped: “Wah, I say goodbye, you are so happy, cannot like that.”

“You all have to ask lou ma don’t go now, we want to ask 'lou ma' to live long,” he added.

Malaysiakini is attempting to contact Nga for comment, especially after Star Online quoted the DAP leader as telling his audience that DAP would use Mahathir and then the latter could join Lee.

However, when Malaysiakini listened to the video, it found that Nga did not explicitly state that DAP would use Mahathir to achieve its political objective.
