MACC chief Shukri Abdull says charges will be filed for its probe on the transfer of RM42 million from SRC International to former premier Najib Abdul Razak very soon.

"I can't give you a time, but very soon," said at a press conference at the graftbuster's headquarters today.

He said the MACC was trying to get two big witnesses in the case.

Najib is being investigated under the MACC Act for corruption over the transfer.

The SRC International probe began in 2015, but was spiked by attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali who said Najib was unaware of the transaction and had not committed any wrongdoing.

The MACC had questioned Najib today for four hours, after receiving new information about the case.

"Today we are only continuing taking his statement (on SRC International) from before (2015) because we got extra information.

Asked if he knew the whereabouts of SRC International managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil, Shukri replied: "Please help me."

On a related question on whether the MACC will seek to repatriate 1MDB-linked businessperson Jho Low, Shukri replied in the affirmative.

MACC had managed to record statements from Low by December 2015, but Nik Faisal had remained elusive.

Meanwhile, Shukri said Najib must still be treated with respect as he is a former prime minister.

He also said he was not out to seek revenge on anyone.

"Let the law speak. If he did anything wrong the law will determine it," he said.
