Kelantan Bersatu has proposed three names to be considered for a minister or deputy minister post in the new Pakatan Harapan cabinet.

The trio proposed are Kelantan Bersatu deputy chief Sazmi Miah, Amanah vice-president Husam Musa, and state PKR chief Ab Aziz Ab Kadir.

All three lost in their bids to capture parliamentary seats during the May 9 general election.

Kelantan Bersatu Youth chief Asran Alias said the names will be submitted to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad for consideration.

"These three have their own experiences on the national or state level, and we hope that there are Kelantanese representatives in the cabinet," Asran said at a press conference in Kota Bharu today.

He said the naming of the remaining cabinet ministers should be done quickly, preferably before Hari Raya Aidilfitri, as a full cabinet is needed to run the country.

"Among others, this causes traders to take advantage by raising prices due to a delay in appointing a minister (to control prices)," he said.

Thus far, Mahathir's cabinet has 14 ministers.

He had said that the remaining portfolios will be divided equally among the four Pakatan Harapan component parties.
