PKR deputy president Azmin Ali was sworn in as the Selangor menteri besar two days after the May 9 general election without the endorsement of Pakatan Harapan parties. 

This was revealed by PKR's Ijok state assemblyperson Dr Idris Ahmad at a press conference in his residence this morning.

"There has been speculation that Harapan wanted me to be the new menteri besar before the 14th general election.

"So, when we were in the joyful mood celebrating our victory, two days later a new menteri besar was proclaimed without the blessing of the parties.

"I don't want to be a gentleman anymore. He (Azmin) just went there (Istana Alam Shah) on his own," Idris declared.

Azmin had to relinquish his position as menteri besar after he was appointed the economic affairs minister by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

There was no letter issued from Harapan parties to approve Azmin to continue as the new menteri besar after the May 9 poll, he said.

There was neither a letter from PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to endorse Azmin, he added. 

When asked to substantiate his allegation, Idris said he heard this from people close to Wan Azizah and PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

"I have been communicating with the party president and the people close to her and Anwar," he added.
