MACC has raided a service apartment unit near KLCC, which allegedly belongs to businessman Jho Low.

According to Star Online, the raid was the result of a tip-off.

Quoting a source, the report claimed that nothing significant was discovered during the four-hour raid. It is believed the raid which ended at 2pm lasted four hours.

Based on photographs of the raid obtained by Malaysiakini, the unit appeared unoccupied and housed a small office.

It is understood that MACC had to break into the unit, where they found several bundles of RM100 notes, a paper shredder machine, whiteboard and photocopier.

MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operation) Azam Baki, when contacted by Bernama, said the MACC's move to send members and MACC officers to the unit was not a raid but just a regular inspection.

He said no items or documents were seized.

Meanwhile, China Press, quoting sources, claimed that the tip-off came from an ex-aide of former premier Najib Abdul Razak, who was arrested in connection with the 1MDB probe earlier this week.

According to iproperty.com.my, the median price for the property is RM3 million while the median rental price is RM7,000.

This is the seventh residence to have been raided in connection with the 1MDB investigation.

The previous six properties raided by the police were linked to Najib.
