The total amount donated to a legal fund for former premier Najib Abdul Razak has surged to RM204,393 as of 3.30pm today.

The chairperson of the Najib solidarity secretariat, Razlan Rafii said this consists of RM86,282 in cash and RM118,211 in the bank.

This was up from RM11,000 yesterday evening.

The fund was initiated yesterday by a group of supporters led by Razlan, who is also former Federal Territories Umno Youth chief.

Razlan said the fund was in response to Najib being unable to pay the full amount of his bail.

On Wednesday, Najib claimed trial to three counts of criminal breach of trust and one count of abuse of power, in relation to transactions involving SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former subsidiary of 1MDB.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court had set bail at RM1 million. Najib paid RM500,000 and will pay the remainder on Monday.
