Perlis chooses Rafizi, S'gor phase two goes to Azmin

PKR POLLS | Incumbent PKR deputy president Azmin Ali has bagged phase two of voting in Selangor for the party election, while his challenger Rafizi Ramli won Perlis.

This is while results from yesterday's polling in Malacca and Negeri Sembilan are still pending.

According to unofficial results released by the PKR election committee, Rafizi garnered 400 votes to Azmin's 334 votes in Perlis

Meanwhile, Azmin won 4,978 votes to Rafizi's 4,385 votes in phase two of voting in Selangor.

Previously in the first phase of voting in Selangor, Azmin bagged 9,377 votes while Rafizi gained 8,563.

With Perlis and phase two of Selangor having cast their ballots in the fifth week of voting, Azmin has widened his lead over Rafizi.

According to Malaysiakini's tally to date, Azmin has 34,383 votes to Rafizi's 33,122 votes, a 1,261-vote advantage.

In Perlis, Rafizi won the divisions of Padang Besar, and Kangar, while Azmin captured the Arau division.

In Selangor phase two, Azmin captured the divisions of Gombak, Petaling Jaya Utara and Selatan, and Kuala Langat; while Rafizi secured the support of the Puchong, Klang, and Selayang divisions.

In the PKR vice-presidents' race, of which four positions are up for grab, the frontrunners in Perlis were Nurul Izzah Anwar (585), Johari Abdul (489), Zuraida Kamaruddin (449) and Tian Chua (377).

In Selangor phase two, the top four were Nurul Izzah (5,710), Dr Xavier Jayakumar (5,623), Zuraida (4,771) and William Leong (4,406).

Following this, the total tally, for the overall top four candidates are Nurul Izzah (38,004), Zuraida (29,911), Xavier (25,966), and Chua (23,861)

The other candidates trailing behind are Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin (23,086), William Leong (20,528), Johari (20,172), S Kesavan (19,181), K Vasantha (10,342), Azan Ismail (6,474), G Balasubramaniam (5,112), Michael Tamil (4,456)

Afif maintains lead in Youth chief contest

As for the PKR Youth chief race, Akmal Nasir won in Perlis with 168 votes to Dr Afif Bahardin's 112 votes and Najwan Halimi's 12 votes.

Akmal won in Selangor phase two with 1,268 votes while his contenders Afif and Najwan garnered 1,199 votes and 210 votes respectively.

Hilman Idham won in Perlis for the deputy PKR Youth race with 135 votes, while coming in behind were Raymond Ahuar (128) and Naqiuddin Nazrin (13).

In Selangor phase two, Hilman won with 1,478 votes while Raymond and Naqiuddin garnered 820 votes and 221 votes respectively.

In Malaysiakini's overall tally for the PKR Youth chief contest, Afif (photo) still maintains the lead with 7,943 votes while Akmal has 7,897, and Najwan 1,809.

In the deputy Youth chief race, Hilman maintained a wide lead with 9,942 votes, while Raymond and Naqiuddin have 4,661 and 1,800 votes respectively.

In the Wanita PKR chief race, Haniza Talha won in both Perlis and Selangor phase two with 175 votes and 2,606 votes respectively. Her rival Fuziah Salleh received 140 votes in Perlis and 2,156 votes in Selangor phase two.

As for the Wanita PKR deputy chief contest, Daroyah Alwi won in Perlis and Selangor phase two with 181 votes and 2,471 votes respectively.

Her opponent Rodziah Ismail received 133 votes in Perlis and 2,023 votes in Selangor phase two.

The current overall tally places Haniza in the lead for the Wanita chief post with 13,869, while Fuziah has 11,044.

For the deputy Wanita chief, Daroyah leads with 13,797 votes followed by Rodziah with 9,934 votes.

The PKR election continues next in Kedah, where 10 divisions will vote next Friday, while five more Kedah divisions will vote on Saturday.
