MACC intends to question former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's wife Rosmah Mansor and her former aide Rizal Mansor today on a solar hybrid project for rural schools in Sarawak, sources said.

The sources said the anti-graft investigators have also called in former federal territories minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor to record his statement on a land deal involving the Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

This was confirmed by MACC deputy chief commissioner Azam Baki.

According to a source, MACC is preparing to wrap up investigations into the RM1.25 billion solar hybrid project, which was meant to supply electricity to 369 schools in the rural areas of Sarawak.

"She (Rosmah) might be arrested today before being taken to court to face charges on Thursday," said the source.

It was reported on Monday that Rosmah and Rizal might this week be slapped with several charges related to the solar hybrid project.

This comes more than a month after Rosmah was slapped with 17 counts of money laundering charges involving RM7 million deposited into her personal bank account.

Malaysiakini revealed in June that the Education Ministry, under the previous administration, had awarded the solar hybrid project for 369 rural schools in Sarawak to a Bintulu-based company under "direct orders" from Najib.

However, it could not be ascertained, as yet, on what role Rosmah played in the project as sources remained tight-lipped about it.
