Advance Aeronautics Training Centre said it is not involved in a dispute with students over the inability to secure government loans for their study via the Skill Development Fund Corporation (SDFC) under the Human Resources Ministry.

The actual organisation involved in the dispute, which saw seven of its students arrested earlier today, is the Petaling Jaya-based Allied Aeronautics Training Centre, another organisation bearing a similar name.

"The institution (Advance Aeronautics) is set-up to be in compliance with both the Human Resources Ministry's Department of Skill Development and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) requirements for its education and training approval.

"The academy facility is strategically located at Lapangan Terbang Sultan Azlan Shah, Ipoh, Perak, making it the country's only aviation training and engineering institution located on airside in Malaysia," said Advance Aeronautics Training Centre chief operating officer G Guru Visnu.

He added that SDFC loans and scholarships from Yayasan Septronic were available to his institution.

Earlier today, seven students from Allied Aeronautics Training Centre were arrested during a protest against the training centre.

Allied Aeronautics said the inability to secure SDFC loans was not its fault and that it had helped students to secure alternative financing.

The training centre maintained that it has been opened to negotiation and accused PSM of inciting its students, culminating in the arrests.
