I came across the following letter while I was surfing the Net to look for study loan packages offered by banks in Malaysia. Wow! I must say that it is a good letter. The author really voiced out the problems and the frustrations faced by thousands of students in Malaysia who require study loans from the banks.

I would like to share my thoughts on this topic. We all know that it won't be easy for a non-bumi to enter the gates of local universities, so what choice do they really have, except going abroad?

Please do not have a misconception that students who can afford to go abroad are from rich families. There are parents saving every single sen to look for alternatives to ensure their next generation are well educated.

Let's wake up and question the study loan policy in Malaysia. It's time for the government, the Education Ministry to really look into the problem.

The people are the nation's asset. Our students will contribute to their country after graduation. Even if they decide to live overseas, I am sure they will be proud to be a Malaysian and appreciate the country's study loan policy which helped them succeed.

My dear Malaysian government and financial sector, these students will one day do you proud in their undertakings but first of all, you must help them. Help your children, the sons and daughters of Malaysia. Let these students applaud and say, 'I am nothing without the good study loan policy of my country - Malaysia'.
