CORONAVIRUS | Brickfields police are tracking down a man who breached the Covid-19 House Surveillance Order (HSO) after a picture of him in a restaurant believed to be in Desa Sri Hartamas went viral.

A twitter user known as Isaac Osman shared the picture today (below) which showed the man wearing a wristband meant for a person under the HSO or home quarantine.

Brickfields district police chief Zairulnizam Mohd Zainuddin said while the police have yet to receive a report on the matter, they had started to search for the man.

"Action has been taken to identify and track down the man.

"Brickfields police urge the public to share information to the police so that immediate action can be taken," he said in a brief statement.

The latest case came only a day after authorities said they were searching for a woman who breached the home quarantine in Perak.

Earlier today, the Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah revealed that 63 individuals under home quarantine who were supposed to go for a second Covid-19 test have gone off the radar.

The failure to adhere to mandatory home quarantine order was one of the reasons that returning Malaysians and non-citizens have to undergo the 14-day quarantine at government quarantine centres beginning July 24.
