Based on their case numbers five of the deceased were admitted to hospital between noon on New Year's Day, and noon Jan 2.

According to Selangor Health Department figures, 37 of the 169 "other screenings" were people who had sought testing after developing symptoms, while four tested positive after developing a severe acute respiratory infection.

Four people tested positive during pre-hospital admission screening, and eight others tested positive during pre-flight screenings.

Their details are as follows:

Patient 65,481: Malaysian female, 71, died at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Alor Setar. Had a history of diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.

Patient 70,140: Malaysian male, 53, died at the Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital, Kluang. Had a history of asthma.

Patient 74,966: Malaysian male, 60, died at the Kajang Hospital. Had a history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and paralysis.

Patient 84,283: Malaysian male, 72, died at the Sungai Buloh Hospital. Had a history of chronic kidney disease.

Patient 98,901: Malaysian female, 72, died at the Lahad Datu Hospital. Had a history of diabetes, and hypertension.

Patient 115,625: Malaysian female, 77, died at the Serdang Hospital. Had a history of diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia.

Patient 115,634: Malaysian male, 63, died at the Sungai Buloh Hospital. Had a history of diabetes, heart disease, and dyslipidemia.

Patient 115,950: Malaysian female, 69, died at the Sungai Buloh Hospital. Had a history of diabetes, heart disease, and chronic kidney disease.

Patient 115,954: Malaysian male, 56, died at the Kajang Hospital.

Patient 116,821: Malaysian male, 68, died at the Kota Tinggi Hospital.

Patient 115,337: Foreign male, 58, remains brought to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu.

Meanwhile, Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement that there were nine new clusters.

The Lintas Seraya cluster in Kota Kinabalu and Penampang, Sabah has 16 cases to date. The index case tested positive on Dec 30.

The Tapak Bina Perdana Avenue cluster has 202 cases to date. Cases were first detected through workplace screening on Dec 30.

The Osmo Jaya workplace cluster has 46 cases to date. Cases were first detected through workplace screening on Dec 15.

The Belati workplace cluster in Johor Bahru, Kota Tinggi, Kulai, and Pontian, Johor has 44 cases to date. The index case tested positive through workplace screening on Dec 29.

The Wawasan Gading workplace cluster in Batu Pahat, Johor has 13 cases to date. The index case tested positive on Dec 14.

The Rengit Sentral workplace cluster in Kota Tinggi, Kluang, and Johor Bahru, Johor has 10 cases to date. The index case tested positive on Dec 28.

The Manik cluster in Kuala Krai, Kelantan and Dungun, Terengganu has 22 cases to date. The index case tested positive on Dec 28.

The Paloh Tumpat cluster in Tumpat, Kelantan has 15 cases to date. The index case tested positive on Dec 31.

The Stutong cluster in Kuching, Sarawak has five cases to date. The index case tested positive on Jan 1.
