Covid-19 (Jan 14) - 3,337 new cases, 15 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 15 new Covid-19 deaths amidst a high of 3,337 new cases.

The Klang Valley accounted for most (39.5 percent) of the new cases followed by Johor (13.8 percent) and Sabah (11.7 percent). 

Slightly over half of the new cases in Selangor (1,306 cases) were attributed to the Klang district alone and appeared to be mostly linked to existing clusters.

Cases detected among those with symptoms amounted to 8.8 percent of new cases in the state. These cases are not detected through targeted testing (of workers, clusters and close contacts).

  • Active cases:  33,989 ↑ (1,612 more than the previous day, new record)

  • Patients in ICU: 195 ↓ (2 less than the previous day)

  • Intubated patients:  86 ↑ (7 more than the previous day)

  • Deaths: 15

Eight of the 15 deaths reported were from Sabah. The cumulative Covid-19 death toll for Sabah is now 295 or 51 percent of the national total (578).

Patient 59,139 - Female, 27, passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Sabah.

Patient 72,726 - Male, 64, passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Sabah.

Patient 86,686 - Female, 62, passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Sabah.

Patient 120,055 - Male, 61, passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital, Selangor.

Patient 125,431 - Male, 81, passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital, Selangor. [Classified as Putrajaya case]

Patient 126,310 - Female, 34, passed away at the Serdang Hospital, Selangor.

Patient 130,620 - Male, 60, passed away at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital, Negeri Sembilan.

Patient 136,363 - Male, 60, body brought to the Lahad Datu Hospital, Sabah.

Patient 138,625 - Male, 66, body brought to the Lahad Datu Hospital, Sabah.

Patient 142,816 - Female, 91, passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Sabah.

Patient 143,623 - Male, 61, passed away at the Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital, Johor.

Patient 143,624 - Male, 53, passed away at the Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital, Johor.

Patient 111,710 - Foreign female, 37, passed away at the Selayang Hospital, Selangor.

Patient 128,750 - Foreign female, 88, passed away at the Lahad Datu Hospital, Sabah.
