UMNO AGMUmno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki admitted that the party was hurt when PAS wanted to continue working with Bersatu even though it has allied with Umno for almost two years.

Liking it to polygamy (bermadu), Asyraf (photo, above) said Umno had no choice but to give in to their ally's whims.

"Who would have thought, tears have not yet dried, the laughter hasn't faded, but a blossoming relationship had to be shared with another.

"With a heavy heart, we surrender to our friend's choice to bermadu, even though it hurts," he said in his policy speech at the Umno general assembly today.

Umno is set to end cooperation with Bersatu once Parliament is dissolved.

However, PAS, which is allied to both, has refused to pick sides. PAS is a member of Bersatu's Perikatan Nasional coalition but also has a pact with Umno through Muafakat Nasional.

PAS insists that all three parties should work together.

However, some quarters in Umno, including the Kelantan chapter, want PAS to make a choice.

Asyraf said the cooperation between Umno and PAS had been a coveted dream for decades and should not be undone because of a third party.
