The Dewan Rakyat speaker will decide this week on whether there will be a limit on the number of MPs attending the "special" five-day sitting which will begin on July 26.
Deputy speaker Mohd Rashid Hasnon (above) said discussions will be held with party whips.
"Every minister and deputy minister will have to limit themselves to just two or three staff members. There will be strict protocol, including Covid-19 tests," he told reporters in Johor Bahru, according to Bernama.
During the previous sitting between November and December last year, only 80 MPs were allowed in the chambers at any one time. However, all MPs were allowed in for voting.
Parliament was suspended since Jan 11 following the proclamation of emergency.
After much pressure, including from Istana Negara, Putrajaya finally relented and called for the special sitting.
However, the agenda appeared to suggest there will be five days of ministerial briefings.
Today, de facto Law Minister Takiyuddin Hassan promised that MPs will be allowed to debate during those briefing sessions along with the proclamation of emergencies and emergency ordinances.
