Umno has so far not received any notice from the Registrar of Societies (ROS) on its application to amend the party's constitution.
It has been over 10 days since Umno submitted the additional documents requested by ROS.
The matter was confirmed today by Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan (above).
"Haven't (received the ROS notice) yet," he said in a brief reply to Malaysiakini.
“They should reply any time now,” he added.
On July 17, Ahmad was reported to have said that he had given ROS "a week or two" to examine the additional documents provided for Umno’s bid to amend the party constitution.
He also said that the matter should not take long since Umno has already followed all the necessary procedures.
The constitutional amendment being sought is to allow Umno to postpone party elections for up to six months after the implementation of a general election for the country.
