COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 3,927 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,701,140.

Active cases currently stood at 46,506, down 6.1 percent compared to 14 days ago.

Another six deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which three were declared as “brought in dead”.

Over the past week, an average of 7.6 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 7.2, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,009 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

The deaths yesterday were reported in Kedah (2), Negeri Sembilan (2), Malacca (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).

There are currently 1,587 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 52 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (132) followed by Johor (114) and Sabah (90).
