Judicial machinery pinned against me - Najib tells apex court

Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak feels that the country's judicial system has failed him.

In a statement read from the docks before the Federal Court delivered a verdict, Najib lamented that he was effectively unrepresented after his bids to postpone the trial or recuse his lawyers, were rejected.

He said he felt mistreated, and has not been given a fair chance to explain himself in court on his decisions regarding his legal team.

"As an accused and appellant at the final stage of a case, it is the worst feeling to have, to realise that the might of the judicial machinery is pinned against me in the most unfair manner," Najib said.

He also reiterated his view that trial judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali and Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat may be biased in their trial.
