Miri MP dropped, fresh faces galore as S'wak PKR names 16 candidates

Incumbent Miri MP Dr Michael Teo has been dropped as PKR candidate for the coming elections in favour of Sarawak PKR Youth chief Chiew Choon Man.

The move was announced by party president Anwar Ibrahim, who named 16 Sarawak PKR candidates for the upcoming polls.

They will be running in:

Petra Jaya - Sofian Julaihi
Puncak Borneo - Diog Dios
Sri Aman - Tay Wei Wei
Lubok Antu - Langga Lias
Betong - Patrick Khamis
Saratok - Ibil Jaya
Kanowit - Mohd Fauzi Abdullah@Joseph
Mukah - Abdul Jalil Bujang
Selangau - Umpang  Salang
Hulu Rajang - Abun Sui Anyit
Sibuti - Zolhaidah Suboh
Miri - Chiew Choon Man
Baram - Roland Engan
Limbang - Racha Balang
Lawas - Japar Suyut
Kapit - Khusyairy Pangkas Abdullah

Teo was acting Sarawak PKR chief for a short while after Baru Bian quit the party, while new state chief Roland Engan and appointed central committee member Abun Sui will be contesting in Baram and Hulu Rajang, respectively, for the third time.

The candidates named will be contesting in the seats where three MPs left the party, namely Selangau, Puncak Borneo, and Saratok, which saw Baru Bian, Willie Mongin, and Ali Biju win on a PKR ticket in GE14.
