Malaysiakini provides free access until polling day

Keeping with tradition during general elections, Malaysiakini will provide readers free access to all its articles beginning today until Nov 20.

We hope this would contribute to voters making an informed choice when casting their ballots.

“I believe everyone should contribute in their own little way, however small or insignificant, to the betterment of our society. We are doing our bit through Malaysiakini,” said Malaysiakini editor-in-chief Steven Gan.

Since its inception in 1999, Malaysiakini has weathered numerous storms ranging from police raids to legal battles in telling truth to power and ensuring good governance.

We could not have done this without your generous support.

In 2002, Malaysiakini adopted a subscription model in order to be self-sustainable and protect its editorial independence.

As a news organisation which takes pride in not being beholden to funders with political agendas, Malaysiakini needs your help to continue our mission to build a better Malaysia for all.

The free access to Malaysiakini will begin from 12.01am on Nov 5 to 11.59pm on Nov 20.

For non-subscribers, please register using a valid email address to access news and views that matter during this free period.

For our subscribers, you will also benefit from this free offer as we are automatically extending your existing subscription by two weeks.
