Umno polls: Najib’s son new Langkawi Umno chief - source

Mohd Nazifuddin, the son of jailed former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, is the new Langkawi Umno division chief.

According to a source, Nazifuddin (above) won the race by 12 votes.

He previously lost the Umno Youth chief race to Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh who won the post with 122 votes in a four-corner fight.

Meanwhile, Md Alwi Che Ahmad won the position of Ketereh Umno division chief uncontested, Berita Harian reports.

He replaces Annuar Musa who was sacked from the party last December. Md Alwi was previously the division’s vice-chief.

It was reported that Azmi Ishak won the contest for Ketereh Umno division vice-chief.

Annuar’s son Afiq Amani Annuar won the position of Ketereh Umno Youth chief uncontested.

Sabariah Hamzah retains her position of Ketereh Umno women chief, while Rabiatul Adawiah Mohamed becomes the division’s Puteri Umno chief.

Marzuani Ardilla Ariffin, who was Umno’s Ketereh candidate in GE15, secured the position as the division’s Puteri Umno vice-chief.
