Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is set to reveal the composition of a revised cabinet line-up today by 11am.

According to Bernama, Anwar said that while his cabinet will remain smaller than the previous government's, it will contain more individuals.

“I will announce it around 10.30am to 11am, and at 2.30pm, I will be at Istana (Negara).

“There is a slight increase but smaller compared to the previous administration,” he told reporters after attending the monthly assembly at the Finance Ministry.

Speculation is rife that Human Resources Minister V Sivakumar might be replaced by his party colleague Deputy Finance Minister II Steven Sim.

Another minister who might be replaced is Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa who is expected to move to a revived Federal Territories Ministry, while former health minister Dzulkefly Ahmad who served in the role from 2018 to 2020 could make a return.

Anwar himself is expected to relinquish some of his responsibilities in the Finance Ministry, with EPF CEO Amir Hamzah Azizan tipped for a role.

Armizan Mohd Ali is in line to helm the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, which fell vacant following the passing of Salahuddin Ayub.

Gobind Singh Deo

Two PKR ministers - Fahmi Fadzil and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad - are also expected to have their ministries restructured with Fahmi remaining in charge of the Digital Ministry, while Gobind Singh Deo takes on the communications portfolio.

Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof is expected to take on some aspects of Nik Nazmi's natural resources, environment and climate change portfolio.

Johari Abdul Ghani

Elsewhere, Umno ministers Mohamad Hasan, Zambry Abdul Kadir and Mohamed Khaled Nordin are tipped to exchange portfolios while Johari Abdul Ghani may make a return as a full minister.
