Inspector General of Police (IGP) Musa Hassan today said he is not worried about the allegations published in the political blog, Malaysia Today .

Speaking to reporters after a function at the Bukit Aman police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, the police chief brushed aside the matter when questioned on it.

"I'm not worried. It is all slander. My efforts are focussed on 'correcting' the police force and to ensure that all my officers carry out their duties well," he said.

In the Malaysia Today article titled ' The roaches are scurrying and the rats are hurrying ', the police, including Musa, were accused of having links with Chinese underworld figures.

Musa also declined to comment on whether action would be taken against Malaysia Today webmaster Raja Petra Kamaruddin.

"I don't want to say anything on that. I can't say anything," he said.

Reporters not barred

In another development, Musa refuted Sibu police chief Nicholas Sebastian's claim that Bukit Aman had issued a directive to bar reporters from police stations.

"No. We don't bar reporters," he stressed.

"I ordered the notice (at the Sibu police headquarters purportedly barring reporters) to be removed as reporters should know the real situation that happens in these places," he said.

On the same note, Musa said it was inappropriate for journalists to loiter around police stations all day.

"You just don't go there and sit down and watch what the police do. If we call, then you come.

"If you sit there for 24 hours, then it is not good also because sometimes before the police carry out their investigations, it (the incident) is already (reported) in the papers," he said.
