Pro-Najib rally: PAS 'invites' Guan Eng, calls Nur Jazlan 'toyol'

In a tit-for-tat move, PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari insinuated that Umno leader Nur Jazlan Mohamed is a toyol that submits to DAP.

“A toyol, even though it is just a mythical being, is believed by some to act only under the orders of its master.

“If the master orders it to steal, it will steal. If ordered to remain silent, it will stay silent.

“Some leaders behave like toyol. There are leaders who loudly demand that DAP apologise for allegedly labelling BN with all sorts of accusations, only to fall silent when reprimanded by DAP,” said Fadhli (above).

After the Mahkota by-election last September, which BN won, Nur Jazlan asked Pakatan Harapan to apologise to Umno for decades of political attacks.

However, the call was dismissed by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the Umno president.

Angels and genies

Yesterday, Nur Jazlan called PAS “political genies” and urged Umno members not to get hoodwinked by the Islamist party’s support for the upcoming rally in solidarity with former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.

In a Facebook post this afternoon, Fadhli said PAS never claimed to be a “party of angels”, let alone “political genies”.

He also reiterated why PAS will join the Najib rally on Jan 6 at the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya.

“PAS only seeks to uphold justice for Najib because he deserves to be granted his rights if the royal addendum truly exists. Anyone who is entitled to their constitutional rights will be defended by PAS,” he said.

Further roasting Nur Jazlan, Fadhli likened the Umno supreme council member to someone “in the darkness of night, fumbling around searching for light, and upon seeing a flashlight in the distance, his eyes are already dazzled”.

‘Don’t talk about principles’

Meanwhile, PAS’ official publication Harakahdaily reported that Fadhli “invited” DAP chairperson Lim Guan Eng to join the Najib solidarity rally.

The Pasir Mas MP, during a forum last night, advised Lim against raising principles in this matter, in an apparent reference to Zahid’s case.

“I advise Lim not to make noise about principles. We are not granting a DNAA (discharge not amounting to an acquittal) to someone who has already been ordered to defend themselves.

“DAP itself has accepted individuals they once criticised to become part of the cabinet. So, there is no longer any issue of principles that they need to worry about. I openly invite Lim to attend this rally,” he stated.

Lim earlier criticised the rally, which will see Umno and PAS coming together, as undermining political stability. He also questioned Umno's sincerity within the federal government.

Elaborating further, Fadhli asserted that PAS consistently upholds the principle of justice for all, including for Lim himself, should he face a similar case in the future.

“If one day Lim is found guilty but eligible for a royal pardon, we will support justice for him too. That is our position,” he concluded.
