Perak MIC Youth: DAP rep dodging debate as she has 'nothing to say'

In a tit-for-tat response over a debate challenge, Perak MIC Youth chief Theeageesh Ganesan said DAP’s M Thulsi should stop the theatrics and admit to why she refused to debate him, instead of mocking MIC.

This came after the Buntong assemblyperson accused MIC of attempting to return to the limelight through cheap tricks, claiming the party was behind a fake poster showing she had accepted Theeageesh’s debate challenge.

“Let’s not waste time on theatrics. The real reason you’re dodging this debate is simple: you have nothing to say, and even less to show.

“After two terms in government and 40 (parliamentary) seats in 2022, the Indian community is still waiting. Where’s the delivery?” Theeageesh (above, right) asked in a statement today.

Yesterday, Perak DAP Youth condemned the circulation of the fake poster.

It said the fabricated poster constitutes a political provocation intended to divert public attention whilst undermining Thulsi’s credibility.

While noting that debates are supposed to add value to a cause, the group said there is nothing to be gained from debating MIC, adding that the latter has done little to help the Indian community.

Why so scared?

Unimpressed, Theeageesh said it was rich for Thulsi to accuse MIC of having “too much time” for fake posters, given she is afraid to debate him.

The MIC leader also claimed that the Indians are not the first community DAP had disappointed, adding that the same happened to the Chinese.

“You have been lying to the Chinese community from 2004 to 2022, promising reforms, accountability, and action. You kept winning, but they kept losing.

“Now, you’re pulling the same trick on the Indian community and hoping no one notices.

“And when you’re finally challenged to defend your record, you deflect. You dramatise. You run,” Theeageesh added.

The war of words between both leaders erupted after Thulsi suggested MIC exit the Madani government if it felt like an “uninvited guest” - a sentiment echoed by the party’s deputy president M Saravanan.
