Politics

  • PKR Women has urged six of the party's MPs who attended Rafizi Ramli's Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) event on Sunday to quit.

In a statement, the party wing secretary Sangetha Jayakumar said the leaders' "hypocritical" politicking is not only jeopardising PKR's stability but also a betrayal of its grassroots members' trust.

"If these individuals' idealism and way forward are no longer in line with PKR's struggle and the principles of the party presidential institution, then they should do the right thing by relinquishing their memberships instead of becoming a thorn in PKR's flesh," she said.

Sangetha added that PKR Women would not hesitate to push the party disciplinary board and central leadership to sack the leaders if their betrayal continues.

Court

  • The Selangor State Town and Country Planning Department has handed over crucial documents to four residents concerning the Petaling Jaya Dispersal (PJD) Link Highway Project.

The court, in March last year, had ruled for the Selangor government to hand over the documents, which were the environmental impact assessment, social impact assessment, traffic impact assessment and the highway project alignment to the residents.

However, there was no compliance for months, resulting in a contempt filed by the residents.

Lawyer Lim Wei Jiet, representing the residents, said the parties in the ongoing suit have reached a few consensuses, including that the resident would withdraw their committal bid if all the documents received were in order.

Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Azizan Arshad has fixed June 18 for case management.
