• The Rural and Regional Development Ministry, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, is implementing a “zero delay” policy for the final four months of the year, aimed at resolving pending projects, payments, land and utility issues, contracts, assets, and decisions.

  Zahid has ordered a review of all pending matters, categorising them into those that can be resolved immediately, those requiring higher-level intervention, and non-viable works that should be closed or cancelled.

  “My principle is simple: No issue without an owner, no project without a timeline, no meeting without a decision,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama today.

• The disruption to MyKad printing will be extended by another week to Sept 7 as the National Registration Department transitions to a new generation of identity cards.

  

  It advised those without an urgent need to replace their MyKad, as well as parents applying for cards for their 12-year-old children, to wait until printing of the new cards begins.

  The disruption began on Aug 26 and was supposed to end on Aug 31.
