No fighting between Harapan and Umno, says PKR veep

PKR vice-president Chang Lih Kang has downplayed reported brewing tension between Pakatan Harapan and BN ministers, which allegedly led to shorter recent cabinet meetings.
The science, technology and innovation minister told reporters that there have been no changes to the parties' relationship, nor was there any 'pergolakan' (fighting).
"Nothing (changed) so far. All the Umno ministers even attended last week's cabinet meeting, and we discussed national issues seriously.
"We do not discuss politics during cabinet meetings. Because political issues are party-related matters.
"There is no fighting," said Chang (above) when met after launching the grand final of the National Science Challenge 2026 in Setia Alam, Selangor this morning.
Umno AGM snub?
The Tanjung Malim MP was asked to comment on Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi saying the party would not invite Harapan to its annual general meeting taking place later this week.
Pressed on this, Chang said he was unsure about the invitation issue and would need to check with the Harapan secretary-general.
Two days ago, Bloomberg reported, citing anonymous sources, that friction between Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Zahid, who is his deputy, had reached new heights, resulting in shorter cabinet meetings.
The sources attributed the tensions partly to Zahid’s decision to lead BN into the Johor and Negeri Sembilan elections against its federal ally Harapan.
Zahid has since denied reports that his relationship with Anwar has become increasingly strained.
While Utusan Malaysia earlier today reported that Umno would not be inviting Harapan to its AGM, Zahid was quoted as saying that PAS will be invited to reciprocate the Islamist party’s invitation to Umno to the PAS muktamar last week.

The signs are so clear of the rift between the two gentlemen. What benefit is there to hide this fact or assume that it doesn’t exist? In fact, by ignoring what is so obvious, this incident corrodes the trustworthiness of the Mr Chang.
Yea sure Lih Kang. All the PRN allegations against one another. You still take Rakyat as stupid.
