Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman today announced the names of Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates for the March 8 general election.

In the line-up, there are 13 new faces for state seats and six for parliamentary constituencies.

musa aman and the sabah state According to Bernama , the state BN head only announced candidates from Umno, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and MCA.

He named 50 candidates for state seats and 19 for parliamentary constituencies. The state

has 60 state and 25 parliamentary constituencies.

The list of names of BN candidates from Pasok Momogun Kadazandusun Murut Bersatu (Upko), Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah

(PBRS) might be announced later today or at the latest by tomorrow.

At the state assembly level, Musa said Umno was introducing 12 new faces while for Parliament, it was introducing four new politicians.

The new faces for state seats are Abdu Mijul Unaini to contest in Banggi, Bolkiah Ismail (Pitas), Datuk Musbah Lamli (Tempasok), Azizah Mohd Dun (Klias), Kamarlin Ombi (Lumadan), Ahmad Bujang (Sindumin), Saddi Abdu Rahman (Sukau), Nilwan Kaban (Kunak), Datuk Harman Mohamad (Sulabayan), Datuk Ramlee Marhaban (Bugaya), Datuk Hamisah Samad (Tanjong Batu) and Muis Pichu (Sebatik).

For parliamentary seats, the new Umno candidates are Abdul Rahman Dahlan (Kota Belud), former Klias state assemblyman Lajim Ukin (Beaufort), Sapawi Ahamad (Sipitang) and Salleh Kalbi (Silam).

Mix of old and new

The party has also named Chin Teck Min, a new face, to contest the much anticipated Kota Kinabalu parliamentary seat.

SAPP also has made only one change to its list of candidates by naming Chua Soon Koi, also a fresh face, to contest the Tawau parliamentary seat.

"The list has a mix of old and new faces to give the people the best. After this, we can move forward as a team to ensure a resounding victory for BN in Sabah so that the state's development can be propelled further," said Musa

The chief minister also denied that there were problems in announcing the names for the remaining 10 state and six parliamentary seats.

"There is no problem...the leaders of the parties involved are still in KL to meet the prime minister. They will announce their candidates, if not this evening, tomorrow," he added.
